It's Really The Two Million Dollar Lunch
Australia’s business, entertainment and social leaders dug deep on Friday, 7 August 2015 at The Million Dollar Lunch at the Palladium at Crown to support the Children's Cancer Foundation.
A remarkable $2 million was raised on the day with the exception of philanthropist Heloise Waislitz’s generous additional donation, taking the overall tally to a nice rounded number.
Guests included Eddie and Carla McGuire, Michael and Sue Gudinski, Rebecca and Chris Judd, Karl Stefanovic, Samantha Armytage, Gretel and Francesca Packer, Pia Miller and Gorgi Coghlan.
The Million Dollar Lunch 2015 included extraordinary performances from world-class musicians – Mark Seymour, Missy Higgins and Anthony Callea.
Kate Langbroek shared her heart-wrenching story about her son’s treatment for leukaemia, bringing a personal perspective to the work of the Children’s Cancer Foundation.
Guests were treated to a distinguished menu by Crown Executive Chef Kelly Jackson, world-renowned chef Guillaume Brahimi and Crown Executive Pastry Chef Roberto Mollenman.
Thank you to the generosity of our Cornerstone Partners – Crown Resorts, AFL, Qantas and Volvo Dealer Group Victoria – The Million Dollar Lunch Committee, Grand Auction and Volvo Premium Raffle donors, suppliers, volunteers and our many supporters, costs for the event were just 7% of funds raised.
The astonishing sum raised permits the Children's Cancer Foundation to continue to fund programs in clinical care and family support of children with cancer, and to accelerate our clinical research program.
